Race regulations

  • Objections

    • To promote running as an accessible sports activity.
    • To increase the professionalism of Latvian runners.
    • To promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
    • To increase the flow of tourist to Jurmala and Latvia.

  • Organizer

    The races are organized by Limited Liability Company Alpha Baltic Sport in cooperation with the Jurmala City Council.

  • Tracks

    • Half-marathon (21.0975 km). Starts at 10:00. During the race traffic is stopped in both directions. Race track surface – 100% asphalt . Start/finish line is at Dzintaru prospekts 1, near the Dzintari Concert Hall.

     

    • 10.5 km race. Start at 10:00. During the race traffic is stopped in both directions. Race track surface – 100% asphalt . Start/finish line is at Dzintaru prospekts 1, near the Dzintari Concert Hall.

     

    • 5 km race. Starts at 13:45. The start / finish line is at the Dzintari beach. The course is marked in the rough terrain (city roads, forest paths, Jurmala beach). During the race traffic is stopped in both directions. Each participant, who in the final ranking is ranked 100, 200, 300, 400 (till 1000 place). Gets the guaranteed prize money of 100 EUR.

     

    • Children's race is held at the start/finish line. Starts at 12:30. Registering till 17th of September,  children aged up to 12 years are able to participate in Maxima Favorit race free of charge.

  • Race programme

    The race will be held on 21st September 2013 in Jurmala.
    Start/finish zone is at Dzintaru prospekts 1, near the Dzintari Concert Hall.

     

     

    • 7:00 – Registration of participants and identification number distribution starts.
    • 8:30 – Registration for the half-marathon closes.
    • 8:30- Registration for the 10.5 km race closes
    • 10:00 – half-marathon (21.0975 km) start.
    • 10:00– 10.5 km race start.
    • 11:00– Registration for children's race closes
    • 12:15– Registration for the 5 km race closes
    • 12:30–children’s race start
    • 13:45– 5 km race start

     

  • Registration

    The deadline of preliminary registration is 17th September, 24:00 o’clock.

    •  at www.maratoni.lv using http://ib.swedbank.lv payment form (for Swedbank clients using Internet banking services) or by credit or debit card payment on the Internet (Visa, MasterCard, Visa Electron, Maestro).

     

    •  Organizations and teams may get the invoice and pay by transfer, by submitting request by e-mail: sport@alphabaltic.lv. The invoice shall be paid no later than 3 days before the race. 


     Registration on the Race Day

    On the competition day registration can be made in Jurmala, Dzintaru prospects 1, near the Dzintari Concert Hall, starting from 7:00. Registration closes 1.5 hours before the start.


  • Participation fee

    • Children aged up to 12 years, registering till 17th September, are able to participate in Childrens race free of charge.

    • If a participant does not participate or does not arrive to the race, the entry fee is not refunded.
    •  If a participant wants to re-register for another distance, the entire distance fee set by the organizers shall be paid.

  • Participation fee includes

    • Food after crossing the finish line
    • Drinks during the race
    • Professionally prepared racetrack
    • Consultations of professional sellers
    • Security services at the race place
    • Prizes from the race sponsors
    • Number tag

  • Participants start number

     

    • Identification numbers will be distributed to the participants on the race day at the registration point.
    • The identification shall be taken no later than 30 min. before the start of a respective distance!!!
    • The number tag must be affixed to the shirt – on the front and be visible.
    •  Participants will also get special time measuring devices (chips).
    • All participants must affix their chips to the left or right leg, preferable not above the ankle.
    • The time measuring device (chip) shall be returned immediately after the finish. They will be detached by qualified experts.
    • Penalty for a lost chip is 15 LVL.

     


  • Starting line

    • Participants who have registered till 5th of September are called to the starting line according to the results of the previous year races. All other participants will be called on start according to numerical order.
    • Participants who have not participated in the previous stage are called to the starting line according to numerical order.
    • In the first corridor the places are taken by the participants invited by the event organizers.

    • The number of participants per team is unlimited.
    • The team ranking is obtained by adding up the points obtained by the four best runners in the individual ranking.
    • The team may be represented by both men and women.
    • The team ranking is not divided by men and women separately.

  • General provisions

    • NB! Participants who doesn’t attend prize ceremony, doesn’t receive prizes
    • 30 min prior the race the athletes must leave their individual drinks at the point as specified by the organizer so that the organizer could deliver them to the respective drinking points of the race.
    • The money prize can be carried out by LVL Latvian bank rate.
    • The prizes for 100th place winners will be carried out 1 week after preliminary result publication.
    •  All advertising and promotions have to be adjusted with marathon organizers. If advertising isn’t adjusted- penalty- 500 LVL.
    • When picking up the number tag each participant will be required to sign a confirmation that he or she accepts full liability that he or she is fit enough to complete the selected distance.
    • When receiving the prize money the race participant shall produce the ID document (passport or driving licence).
    • By registering for the race all participants confirm that they do not object to the photos taken during the race being used for marketing and advertising activities.
    • During the race it is forbidden to accompany the runners with bikes, rollerblades, etc.
    • During the race the route specified by the judge and the distance corridor, from which the participant starts, must be followed.
    • Participants who perform unwarranted shortcuts during the race will be disqualified.
    • The panel of judges together with the organizers are entitled to settle the issues that are not stipulated in the competition rules.
    • The organizers are not responsible for participants not knowing and complying with the competition rules.
    • The entry fee will not be refunded to the participants who cannot participate in the race. 
    • The money prize can be carried out by LVL Latvian bank rate
    • Any participant using an unofficial number tag will have their results annulled.
    • Doping test may be performed during the competition.
    • During the race the participants are not entitled to affect by their activities other participants and their results.
    • Any participant, who believes that he or she has been impeded by some action before crossing the finish line, may submit a petition to the arbiter of the race. The petition must be submitted in writing 30 min after the crossing the finish line along with the fee of 20 LVL/29 EUR paid at the information tent.
    • The results will be published as www.maratoni.lv
