    The race is organized by Limited Liability Company SIA Alpha Baltic Sport (address: Stabu iela 19, Riga, LV-1011, ph.+371 67844425) in cooperation with the Marupe Municipality..

    The race will be held under the International Cycling Union (UCI) Cycling Regulations.

    The event is entered in the UCI MTB Marathon Series international calendar

    • 92 km race are open for men and women aged 19 years and over. Riders must hold valid UCI licence which is issued by their national federation

  • Distances

    92 km tour. Traffic movement shall be halted in both directions during the UCI Marathon series distance. Track shall be marked in rough terrain (country, forest, unpaved roads, paths, water obstacles). Start finish zone shall be located in Jaunmārupe. Participants with licenses issued by the national cycling federations shall participate in UCI MTB Marathon Series distance.

    Children’s tour shall take place in start/finish zone. Upon registration until August 21 children at the age of 12 born in 2001 or younger shall be allowed to participate in children’s tour without paying participation fee!

  • Race programme

    Competition shall take place on 25 August 2013 in Jaunmārupe.

    ·          08:00 – 10:00 Verification of licenses, issuance of numbers in registration tent (in the start finish zone)

    ·         09:00 – Meeting of the team managers (in the start finish zone, next to the stage)

    ·         10:30 corridors opened for women’s UCI MTB Marathon Series 92 km distance

    ·         11:00 – start of the women’s UCI MTB Marathon Series 92 km distance

    ·         11:05 corridors opened for men’s UCI MTB Marathon Series 92 km distance

    ·         11:30 – start of the men’s UCI MTB Marathon Series 92 km distance

    ·         11:40 beginning of children’s competition

    ·         13:10 corridors opened for 42 km distance

    ·         13:30 – start of the 42 km tour

    ·         15:00 – awards ceremony

  • UCI points

    • According to the UCI Rules, top 40 men score points from 40 to 1 point and top 20 women score points from 20 to 1 point.
    • 92 km race are open for men and women aged 19 years and over. Riders must hold valid UCI licence which is issued by their national federation

  • Registration

    Preliminary registration for the competition shall last until August 21, 24:00 as follows

    ·         www.maratoni.lv applying http://ib.swedbank.lv payment form (for the customers of “Swedbank” using services of internet banking) or performing payments with credit cards and debit cards on the internet (Visa, MasterCard, Visa Electron, Maestro).

    ·         In all sports good stores of “Fans” chain.

    ·         In all sports clubs CityFitness.

    ·         Organizations and teams shall be allowed to receive invoice and make transfer payment by sending application to the e-mail: sport@alphabaltic.lv. The invoice should be paid until not later than three days before commencement of the competition.

      Registration of the day of competition

    On the day of competition registration shall take place in Jaunmārupe, start/finish zone, registration tent.

     

  • Participation fee

    Upon registration until August 21 children at the age of 12 or younger shall be allowed to participate in children’s tour without paying participation fee!

  • Safety regulations

     

    • Riders are obliged to follow instructions of the course signs and police officers.
    • Team cars’ drivers must follow the instructions of police, organizers and the Chief Commissaries
    • Accreditation cards allowing team cars to drive between food points and technical points will be issued at the team managers’ meeting.
    • Organizers are not responsible for any private possessions left unattended

     

  • Technical Assistance and Food Points

     

    • According to Article 4.2.033 of the UCI Rules food is allowed only at 6 official Service Points. 
    • According to the UCI MTB Regulations there will be a neutral technical assistance in every service point.
  • Violations of Competition Rules

    • In the event of violation of the competition rules, the penalty will be imposed according to the UCI Rules.
  • Obligations of the Team Manager

    • To inform the participants about the Rules, schedule and other official documents
    • To follow orders given by organizers or commissaries
    • To cover the costs of damages caused by their team members or other team staffrelated persons to the property of the organizers
  • General Rules

    ·         Helmets intended for cycling shall be mandatory to all participants.

    ·         At the request of the supporters of the event all participants of the competition should participate in the awards ceremony. Failure to attend the award ceremony shall result in loss of the prize

    ·         Payment of prizes may take place in LVL according to the exchange rate defined by the Bank of Latvia

    ·         Payment of money prizes shall take place by transfer to the bank account of the respective person

    ·         Fine in case of disposition of uncoordinated commercial – 500 LVL.

    ·         Ride using unfixed helmet or without helmet shall result in disqualification of the participant.

    ·         Upon reception of money prizes the participants shall be obliged to produce identity document (passport, driver’s license).

    ·         Upon reception of the number each participant shall confirm with the signature of bearing full responsibility for conformity of his/her health for the chosen distance and observance of traffic safety rules.

    ·         Organizers of the competition shall bear no responsibility for possible traumas of participants during the competition.

    ·         Upon registration for the competition all participants shall confirm their agreement with the use of photographs taken during the competition for marketing and commercial activities.

    ·         Unwarranted curtailment of the distance shall result in disqualification of the participant.

    ·         Organizers shall bear no responsibility for participants’ ignorance and non-observation of the regulation.

    ·         Organizations and teams are able to receive invoice and pay by transfer. Invoice should be paid 3 days prior to beginning of the competition.

    ·         The paid participation fee shall not be returned to the participants unable to participate in the competition.

    ·         Payment of prizes may take place in LVL according to the exchange rate defined by the Bank of Latvia.

    ·         Unwarranted manufacture of number shall result in penalty – annulment of result.

    ·         Payment of prizes may take place by exchanging EUR to LVL according to the exchange rate defined by the Bank of Latvia.

    ·         Doping control may be performed in the competition.

    ·         Participants shall be recommended to take: pump, spare tube and mobile phone in the distance.

    ·         During the distance participants of the competition shall not be allowed to impact other participants of the competition and their results by their action.

    ·         Any participant of the competition considering himself/herself having been restricted by any action before crossing the finish line shall be entitled to submit claim to the head referee. Claim shall be submitted in writing within 15 min after the finish of the respective tour depositing 20 LVL/29 EUR in the information tent.

    ·         Results shall be published on www.maratoni.lv

    ·         According to the clause 1.2.081 of UCI regulations meeting of representatives of the teams shall take place before each stage of the competition.

    ·         Results of the participants shall be registered electronically and by using photo-finish.

    ·         Catering and technical assistance of the participants shall be allowed within the official technical assistance zones only.

    ·         Physical contact between caterers/mechanics and cyclists shall be allowed in the technical assistance zone only. Serving of water bottles and food for the riders shall be allowed from hand to hand. Feeder or mechanic shall not be allowed to run beside the rider.

    ·         Rider shall not be allowed to turn around to return to the technical assistance zone.

    ·         Allowed technical assistance shall mean repair or replacement of parts, except for the frame. Replacement of wheel shall be forbidden, and the rider shall be obliged to cross the finish line with the same wheel number that was on at the beginning of the distance.

    ·         Spare parts and repair tools shall be stored in these zones. Repair and replacement of parts may be performed also by the participant himself/herself or with help of teammate or mechanic. Tiny parts, such as spare tube or other tiny parts may be passed from this zone.

    ·         Additionally to the technical assistance zones the technical assistance shall be allowed only between the teammates representing the same UCI or national team.

    ·         Crossing the finish line repeatedly the participant shall have the last crossing time and place registered.

    ·         Crossing of the finish line in opposite direction shall result in penalty: disqualification.

    ·         Only official representative of the team holding permit issued by the organizers shall be allowed in the official catering point.

    ·         Reception of technical assistance shall be allowed in specially marked zones only.

    ·         During the distance participants of the competition shall not be allowed to impact other participants of the competition and their results by their action.

    ·         The panel of referees together with organizers shall be entitled to decide on matters not mentioned in the regulation of the competition.
